Dubai senior video editor and producer Jim Wilson is based in Dubai, with more than 30 years of experience across television, documentary, commercials, branded content and corporate film. From UK broadcast television and MTV Europe to major international brands and productions in the UAE, Jim brings strong editorial judgement and storytelling experience to projects at every stage of production.
30+ Years of Broadcast, Film & Video Editing Experience
Jim began his career in the UK, working in television and documentary production before becoming a video editor at MTV Networks Europe in London.
His broadcast experience includes MTV Europe, BBC, ITN, Discovery, CNN, Mentorn and Endemol, working across television series, documentaries, music programming and large-scale productions.
His credits include the BAFTA-winning documentary School of Hard Knocks, MTV programmes including Pimp My Ride, Rockstar: INXS, MTV Making the Video, TRL and the MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as documentary and factual productions including BBC’s Nuremberg – Nazis on Trial and Chef Wanted.
Jim has also worked alongside acclaimed directors and filmmakers including Anton Corbijn and Joe Wright, and with cinematographer John Mathieson.
Dubai Senior Video Editor & Video Production
Based in Dubai for more than 15 years, Jim works as a Dubai senior video editor and producer with agencies, production companies, brands and organisations across the UAE and internationally.
His Dubai portfolio spans corporate films, branded content, commercials, documentaries, social media films, event content and large-scale productions.
Clients and projects have included Mubadala, ADNOC, Emirates Airline, DP World, LVMH, Bvlgari, P&G, HSBC, Rolls-Royce and McDonald’s, as well as major UAE projects and productions.
His work combines the narrative discipline of broadcast television with the requirements of modern corporate, commercial and branded video production.
Senior Video Editor, Producer & Post-Production Lead
Jim works both independently and through Edit Productions, where he leads post-production projects and works with experienced editors, colourists, motion designers and technical crew.
He provides senior editorial expertise from the first assembly through to final delivery, while also working as a producer and lead editor on selected productions.
His experience covers everything from shaping interviews and large volumes of footage into compelling narratives to managing complex post-production workflows and delivering finished films for international clients.
Live & Broadcast Production
Jim also works as a live producer and lead editor on international event and broadcast-style productions. This includes APCO’s Storybook Studio productions through Global Creative Video, a news-style live production unit led by former CNN anchor John Defterios.
Working alongside highly experienced journalists, producers and technical crew, Jim works at live-broadcast pace across major international summits and events, including the World Government Summit, Global Cybersecurity Forum and ADIPEC.
